The McKinnon Cricket Club is well represented in Victoria’s Indigenous Impaja Cup Cricket Team and with this connection, we have the opportunity to launch Indigenous Month with McKinnon playing Old Mentonians in a Cricket Southern Bayside Division 1 One Day match on Saturday 14th December 2019.
Prior to the match, a local Woolworths Cricket Blast centre will be in action from 10:30am with 100 children and their parents/guardians attending.
The children, players, officials and guests will then be asked to join Aunty Di Kerr for a Welcome to Country Smoke Ceremony and barefoot circle and commitment to reconciliation – 11.30am arrival for a 12.00pm start. Following this ceremony, everyone is welcome to join in the luncheon at 12.30pm being hosted by the McKinnon Cricket Club at a cost of $40 per head, with proceeds going to ASHE Sporting Assistance.
We would be delighted if you are able to join us on this historic occasion.
If you would like to attend, please RSVP to
candice.pool@hotmail.com by 10th December and advise of any dietary requirements.
